I Miss You Grandad
I remember when I was young you
used to put me on the horse,
You'd tell me to sit up straight
and put my hands down, of course.
You used to buy me everything
and spoil me absolutely rotten,
You would cuddle me ever so
softly as if I was made of cotton.
Your words always calmed me and
put courage into my little mind,
When you would go somewhere I
would follow very close behind.
You meant the world to me and
I loved you more than anything,
If I was ever scared or hurt you
would take me under you wing.
When you died I felt like a piece of
me died with you right there and then.
I know one day I will see you again
although I am not sure where nor when.
I do however know that you
are now watching down on me.
I believe you are my guardian
angel keeping me safe and free.
Why the Lord above took you away that day
I will never know or even understand;
You were healing from that brain tumor,
but God decided to take it into his own hand.
I still sit here today missing and
thinking of you every moment I can.
I think of how much everyone loved you
and how much you were a wonderful man.
I miss you grandad, I love you,
these words are from the heart.
Please keep coming to me in my dreams,
that way we will never be apart!
